  1. what a beautiful photograph of the dragonfly! I'm just commenting to say that I like your blog and plan to read it regularly. I just found it, from your comment on Kate's blog (a year with horses).

  5. OK, so I'm pretty brave, but I haven't graduated to the "allow insects who are big enough to carry me off to land on my hand" stage. I hope this guy (or gal) has been eating a lot of mosquitoes for you.

  6. Thanks for visiting my blog! I'm delighted to hear I don't have the world's only tree-climbing dog.
As well as the JRT connection, I also said goodbye to a sweet old dog recently, as well as the naughty dog's predecessor last year. It's sad when they go :-( but I wouldn't be without them.

  7. So beautiful! We have them circling overhead in the pastures in the evening. Ours are a different variety - longer and skinny, but still gorgeous. They always remind me of swimming in my grandparents pool at the barn (pool closed in 1992). The dragonflies would dive in for a drink.

  8. I would 'want' to touch/hold this and then FREAK out. ;) But photo is lovely to view safely away from it's little bug legs.

  10. The dragonfly has been around for a very long time. In that way, it is a bit of a dinosaur. Seeing one always makes me feel wonderful because even though in some ways they are creepy ole insects, there is something magical about a dragonfly and so they don't seem creepy at all. First, they seem to float through the air, not buzz around like an idiot. And second, their very name suggests something magical about them. Are they little dragons among us? YES YES!
    O so very cool.
